Not all federal employees serving in a probationary period are treated the same for purposes of appeal rights to the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. If you have previously completed a probationary period in a prior position, you may be entitled to certain due process protections and appeal rights that other probationary period employees lack.

The EEOC must begin to more aggressively sanction federal agencies who fail to comply with investigative deadlines for EEO complaints. Severe sanctions are necessary to protect employees and the integrity of the EEO system as a whole, and without them, federal agencies will continue to disregard their obligations under the law.
